Harriet Tuipulotu is a certified nursing assistant, home health aide, and caregiver. She has been with Care Indeed since 2015 but has been a caregiver since 2010. When asked what inspires her to be a caregiver, she responded, “My parents. They gave me the first-hand experience of what it takes to be a caregiver.”
Harriet has extreme compassion when taking care of others, as she sees her work not as a job. She knows that she can be her natural caring and nurturing self when she is able to treat her clients as if they were part of her family. As a caregiver, Harriet states that she has learned more about herself as an individual. She is able to not only motivate herself but her clients too, which she says is the best part of her job. She quotes, “Being a caregiver can be challenging, but it is simply enjoyable when caring is what you do best.”
Harriet strives to make a difference in the lives of people she cares for. Her most rewarding experience was when her client’s daughter wrote her a recommendation letter thanking her for going above and beyond to give excellent care to her mother. Although Harriet had been with the client for only 2 months, the client’s daughter accepted and trusted Harriet as if she were part of their family. Until this day, Harriet still looks over that letter whenever she needs words of encouragement.
