Virginia's childhood dream was to be a nurse. She didn't become a nurse because her parents could not afford to send her to a nursing school. Virginia said, "Caring for others has always been my passion. I didn't have the chance to care for the sick and the elderly back then, but I've had the opportunity to do that here since 2002."
For 8 years, Virginia provided live-in care to a very kind lady in New York. After this client died, Virginia moved back to California. Virginia added, "My husband is in Michigan; my two sons, a nurse and a pharmacist, live in Texas. They've been asking me to join them. I keep telling them that I prefer to work rather than stay at home. I love them but I am still strong and able to do what I want."
Virginia lives in Redwood City with her cousin who is also a caregiver. She visits her family whenever she can and they do the same.
